Stories Beyond Borders: How the Census plays a vital role in immigrant justice. (Published December 11, 2019)

Stories Beyond Borders is a grassroots organizing initiative lead by WorkingFilms to help create spaces for local conversation that ignite activism. Following the move screening, the audience participated in an engaging dialogue amongst small groups. This was followed by a small panel discussing how we can engage local community members, and the different avenues in which we can be represented and use our voice. The panel included: Carmen Patlan, Executive Director of Highwood Public Library, Oswaldo Alvarez, Statewide Census Director, and Giselle Rodriguez, CIP team member and undocumented community resident.
